Tossing up about fitting a Safari snorkel to the KJ. Does anyone have a comment, good or bad about them?
Are they worth the money?

If you do any wading, fording or go regularly through deepish water then its a must have, the cost of a snorkel is pennies compared to the cost of an engine and the hassle that goes with it. They also look kind of cool too  :icon_winkle:

I picked up a second hand safari snorkel for £120 inc the modified air box, took a mate a couple of hours to fit (without a template) fitted it slightly higher so there was no need to move the indicator repeater on passenger wing. Moved the screen wash tank into the engine bay above the inlet manifold. (Less plumbing on washer pipes) :) Alien snorkels do a safari clone at around £120, and get good right ups.

Safari snorkels are expensive but you get what you pay for and they are tried and tested

Yeah, that's mine, few more mods from that photo, but that one shows the snorkel clearly. :)

Deffo safari, logo moulded into the body of snorkel. :)
96 4L, airbox is on the passenger side of engine bay, hence needing to resite washer bottle. ( inside passenger wing) :) :)

Understand about the airbox thing...I had a chat with the guy at Alien snorkels and saw the set up for your model. They don't do one for the KJ, so will have to stick with the Safari. Had to put a new set of tires on her today so snorkel is on the wish list for a week or so.  :icon_sad:

I agree..he said they will have them in about six months or so. It might be worth waiting.
