Stripped the diff after my slight mishap at turkey hunt, it's fooked as is the lockrite. Will just go with a rebuild to stock for the time being. Already have spare ring and pinion and carrier so just need to order spiders and clutch plates may replace the bearings as well.

The picture of the bearing is for Kev, who seemed to think my diff oil was a little dirty. Well it had been in around 3years.  :lol_hitting:

So after turkey hunt mishap, rebuilt the diff with bits I had sat around. LSD ain't brilliant but then they never are, it can stay as is for the immediate future.
Also fitted an extra pair of shocks to the back end to try and slow it down a bit. Seems better.
Have eventally got round to doing something with the rear brakes to get a handbrake for the mot. Was going to do the transit route as James is, but didn't want to mess with discs.
So have fitted some off a renault scenic with cables off a fiat stilo as the pads just fit on the zj discs. Pedal feel is good (better than the zj calipers) will see how effective handbrake is after pads have bedded in a little.
Needed 25mm wheel spacers to clear the calipers with 15" wheels.
Hopefully get  mot ready for breakout now.

ever thought about sourcing some 16" grand cherry rims? no problem with caliper clearence with those.

your dampers appear to be at a too steep an angle to work effectively. or are they purely for articulation hence the double damper for roll control

Had a quick look for some 16" but then tyres etc, made spacers the cheaper option.

Shocks mounted like that to get them in the available space without hanging below the axle or cutting the floor. Built on a budget with what i had available. Better shocks mounted through the floor would be much better but i had 4 +3 rough country sat here hence the angle. Oh and it has good flex! With them doubled up damping rates match the front.

So time for an update......
After damage at cheapfest last year some rear tube arches were welded in place (fronts still to do) with clearance for bigger tyres accounted for.
Aquired some 2.5 petrol axles of facebook so those were fitted (wish i'd done this before the 4-link) along with the new front springs i'd got  hold of (gumbo/James H)
New front springs made it alot higher than expected causing me to rethink the stay short arm option. Built a radious arm set up before realising that rod ends don't work as a radious arm set up so it's now 3-linked as intended (serves me right for trying to take a short cut)
Some 33"s borrowed of James (i like to lie in a bog) Bench (off mocajs parts truck) and it works.
Tested yesterday at silverdale, first impressions are ride is much smoother and it climbs out of ruts better with less aggresive tyres on.
Damage is a rear shock mount(my bad shit weld) Panhard rod mount needed bracing(already new this was needed) and the front prop was unhappy with its new working angle.
