Guys

I need to get new gears for the xj. Changing the ratio to a 4.56.

Does any one know where I can get these in the ok? Or will I have to get them from the states?

if you want to do things a bit cheaper and can go with 4.10 ratio then some axles,complete from a 2.5 petrol XJ could be had for maybe £200 or less per end.....

Possibly LLama can supply re gear kits, I see David now sells Spartan lockers as well 

If your changing the gearing you'll possibly need different carriers... guess your running 3.55 at mo? You will need a front carrier, rear should be okay Dana 35 yeah? Is the rear an open diff?... or do you have a slipper in the rear? Might be worth thinking about a lunch box locker whilst you have the diffs apart...

Don't forget you'll need new bearings etc... you don't need a full set... I bought mine locally from a bearing specialist, they were either standard ones of the shelf or next day order...

Yeah I'm going to get lockers for both front And rear soon, but read bad things about lunchbox lockers on a Dana 30.

The rear is a Dana 35 but I'm not sure if it has a slip diff. I have part and full time 4wd on the selector?

I've sorted the dana30 gears from cockney boy.

Don't really know a great deal when it comes to this stuff, but all I know is that I have to re gear the axles due to the bigger tyres setup.

Was going to get Aussie lockers... Heard good things this.
Anyone running these Spartan lockers?

Good stuff I run Aussie Lockers front and rear, no probs in the Dana 30, just get stronger UJ's, if you hit stuff hard and flat out you'll snap stuff, with lockers you can go slower and more control, been running aussie in the Dana 35 and again no issues, just upgraded to an Aussie locker for a Dana 44 as I have a TJ now.

I think the spartan and aussie lockers are almost the same? Certainly same design, lookup you tube on how to fit, and google a walk though as instructions with them didn't make plain sailing for my first time fitting them, since then I've fitted them a few times and now can be done very quickly... good luck, keep asking questions, lots of advice here... cheers Maf
