A mate has just bought a 99 WJ 4.7 from the auctions £500
with no keys
So sold as a non runner he bought it and has got a key cut from Jeep but it wont spark? He wants to know if there is a seperate immobiliser in the 2 button fob as it hasn't got one. Any ideas peeps?

So there are 2 immobalisers? Would that stop it from sparking? Cheers

It's nothing to do with the fob, you need to get the correct type of key (SKIS) and then tow it to a dealer and get them to program the Jeep to recognise it. And no, there is no other way it will ever run.

Thanks for the info ill pass it on, you would have thought that a main dealer should have told them that the ecu needs programming when they sold the key?

Obviously not in this case. It has as more chance of flying to mars than starting without the SKIS module programmed to accept the new key.
