So I made one. Yes it's rough, yes my welding sucks. Put it on a 33 year old arm, cranked it down, liberal WD all over, beer break and see what happens...

Good luck, mine was having none of an 8t hydraulic ram puller, I even left it on overnight with no luck. It's going in a press as soon as I take it off the jeep.

If it hasn't pinged off by beer number 10, try warming it up - the arm not the beer!!

Slitting disk, hammer and chisel and then £21 from Lightys for a new one...

Or.... Successfully remove both pitman arms with my homemade tool! 

However...

Jeep throws a last minute sting at me. The inlet/out for the hoses on the SJ steering box appears to have some form of restriction, preventing the YJ hoses from bolting in.

After i bolt the box back on the frame.

Thrown in the towel for tonight, pick it up again in the morning.

On a positive note, i had to remove the radiator to get at the hoses, which gave me a chance to pressure wash the mud out, and remove the unused electric pusher fan.

Almost done. Battled the arm off the 33 year steering box,



then battled the drop arm off the YJ box (last removed 6 years ago). Put the drop arm on the SJ steering box, bolted to the frame, steering rod connected...



...and found that the hose fittings are different.  Not a massive deal. The YJ hoses end in an O ring fitting, the SJ steering box has a flare fitting. Just have to cut the O ring fitting off and have the pipe flared.
