Chrysler 8.25 build.
« on: June 09, 2013, 09:01:59 PM »

Just picked up my axles yesterday from a donor 2.5 petrol.

Started the strip down on the 8.25 today and found some gremlins, the ring, and pinion need replacing and when I took the carrier out it said (trac lok) on it, I thought they were a open diff?

Here some pictures.

Anyone got a ring gear 4.10 kicking around?

Not sure, it's what I have been told by fellow XJ chaps who have swap out the Dana35 for the 8.25.

I was going to fit a lunchbox but I will now have to get a open carrier if that is the case. Plus the cost of replacing the ring gear.

I have just removed a 4.10 ring and pinion, used but not chipped or pitted. PM me if you're interested.

The early ones had trac loc I think and Jeep never seem to follow the rules when assembling vehicles.
