2.5TD XJ Biodiesel Questions.
« on: October 03, 2013, 12:48:10 PM »

Hi all, two questions if I may:

1 - Those of you who don't run your 2.5TD XJ on forecourt diesel, do you notice an oily residue on the rear of your truck?
2 - After an oil change, has anyone put the old used oil in the fuel tank to burn?

Thanks in advance!

1 - should not be residue - only around filler where you missed

2 don't do it - it is not legal to burn (as is not durt exempt like veg) - and carbon could destroy parts

No 2 If you need to use it then put it as a mix not neat. Positive side it helps with lubrication negative side as mentioned above.
Always carry spare in line filters just in case

1 - It's only over the rear of the vehicle, and it's only on my vehicle, not anyone who parks next to me. I assume it is from the veg oil, as it's the only thing that would make sense. It cleans off OK with normal washing, but the windscreen wiper struggles with it. I will try to take a picture and post it so you can see what I mean.

2 - OK, I won't stick it in the tank - was just interested if anyone had tried this, as it seems logical to me as it is oil.
