Sick and tired of the escaping air in my front tyres so had them taken out and replaced by normal tubeless valves. :icon_twisted:

Short of cramming these things in a dive bottle with 5000 psi how can I fool the confuser?

I think ducth is fed up of the tyre pressure monitoring valves fitted on the WK. such that he has had them removed.

Now the question is, how does one de-activate / fool the monitoring system such that it does bug the fuck out of him  :003: looking for something that isnt there & showing error messages / chimes / warmings & doing his cloggy fruit in

There's a fix on the wrangler forum.com but it won't let me on there.

Also found some dude on 't net that made a PVC tube with glued end caps with a valve in one end.  Put 33 psi in - job done  :icon_super:

That's the normal fix - some kind of container like a small sandwich box, pop them in, fit a valve to one end, seal the lid with silicone and then pump up and leave in glove box. Or just take to the dealership and bend over while they fix the problem.

Jam jar + silicone + ducktape - hole in the lid to stick one of the buggers thru - rumpy pumpy .... 33 psi  :die:

There was a time when I thought it would be a nice idea to have them on Der Panzer but in hindsight I'm glad they arent fitted  :icon_super:

Sounds feasible Dutch..why not slightly bigger jam jar and five holes so you can do the whole lot at the same time?

They all go in the one jar Bazz, as long as they are in the right pressure they are fine.

BUT my previous Kawasaki had tyre pressure warning thingies.......OK but tyre fitters that didn't have dealer training could muller them and then as you say £150 a pop....... :jpshakehead:

Yup and the worst thing is that these aluminium valve stems corrode like buggery.  I had one broken one already on the front.  The only thing that prevented the valve coming out was because it was corroded solidly in the remaining stem  :jpshakehead:

Worst second thing : Dealers say ....... yup you want the technology (or at lest a car with it fitted) ....... you pay up ..... Tough!!  :icon_twisted:  poor design and poor quality ? Hmmmm maybe but not our problem.

It will go the way that at every tyre change you'll need new valves and apparently IIRC from 2015 onwards every new car has to be fitted with them and working for the MOT.

btw pot wrapped in duck tape - plenty of sikaflex to seal lid & valve.  Allowing to dry now before pressure testing  :greggmo:

Still got me good looks without bits of jam jar sticking out.  :003: 

Had the whole thing lagged in duck tape but been unable to get a good seal on the lid.  The gunk I used (and plenty of) did not seem to hold back 2.5 bar of pressure.  Gonna give it another go this evening with glue and an old bicycle inner tyre.  If that fails I'd have to go the PVC tube/end cap route. :011:

I did look at the empty plastic coke bottles in the recycling bag but I'd have to cut one open, put TPMS's in, and then reseal ...... and how the fook am I going to do that ?

Take your spare tyre off, Sikaflex all 5 of them around the inside of the wheel, put the tyre back on and inflate to correct pressure. Voila!

With the valve removed would the sensors fit in a 500ml Lucozade bottle?

Dunno, never managed to get the jamjar to seal properly, no matter how much gunk, glue, sealant and various tapes I threw at it.

I saved the valve and will now look at another container, going to go PVC tube and glued end caps now.

Confucius say if you no want to use the spare,get pneumatic sack barrow wheel and use that.

11 quid a pr,saves pissing about with glue and stands a mighty ten inches high and six inch wide.

the later valves have proper rubber stems, also as has been said before just glue em to  the inside of the wheel with sika flex. they dont come adrift inside the wheel and you still get the pressure monitor working.
