£20.00 = 23 lts of derv getting 110miles dose this sound ok
this is driving normal....

That's about 21.75 MPG, used to get about that out of mine, but only when driven very hard and on shortish journeys of about 15 miles.(late for work again).
Your getting your diesel cheap!! I buy in bulk and I can't get it that cheap.

Put a brick under your gas pedal. I could get about 33MPG if I tried, but most of the time it was about 22MPG, if the misses drove it she'd get around 29 MPG average.

tis rite pucker up and acept it every one thinks just cus its an oil burrner its gonna go to the moon an back on a tankfull let me come over and hit you over the head with a steel bar to readjust your expectaition sensors it may take a few atempts but am prepared to go the distance

£20 of derv gets me about 115 miles all my other 4x4 which i must say were 2.8 iszuzu gave me 28- 30mpg.the jeep runs great, no smoke or noise, I am driving steady and thats not like me but only getting 20mpg so any ideas ?

if you are so bothered about fuel that you must keep asking the same question over and over again. maybe you shuld buy a mini. that would save ya a lot of typing and some fuel too.

So you're not driving it hard, not short journeys, it's not smoking, no whistling noises, loss of power and your fuel tank ain't leaking, then you've got to be using poor quality diesel, VM's hate shitty diesel. Try using Shell if you've got one near you, by the Mc donald's I think, makes a hell of a difference using quality fuel.

....We've got a Mini....can't get anymore than 28mpg out of that.... but it is a hoot to drive and difficult not to keep your foot flat on the floor... :lol:

i have a similar problem with both of our jeeps. :shock:

do you think i have a problem, or does the ear to ear grin i get from driving both jeeps make up for it.

Think about a Smart car, i hear they are cheap to run and they have a good message board too :wink:

you cant drive a big engine in a heavy jeep and expect huge mileage however you look at it

my old rangie only gave 12 mpg at best

Not having a dig at anyone, but it reminds me of the shops in Beverly Hills.

Most have no prices on display and the saying is 'if you have to ask, then you can't afford it'

I see MPG as the same. You have a motor, it needs fuel, if you can't afford fuel either sell the motor or use it less.

I have ran 6 and 12 cylinder Jags, old Fiats and Alfas, tuned Mk2 Escorts, and others using this philosiphy.

Ok boys all in saying is that people on here have said that they get 25/30 mpg, mine is doing 20mpg and am driving steady, as for paying for fuel I have run rally cars for many years built the prepared them on a good day 6mpg,so don’t try to tell me about spending money on fuel because I have done it all and don’t forget the octane booster
Cool water for your rad and all the water injection .all I am asking is should it do 25/30mpg I am not to up on jeep electrics and the mapping for this engine, so if there is a factory plug in device to change/check mapping/tuning or do we not know this info.
I enjoy tinkering with older vehicles you can have a good go at them.
You should try a Subaru wrc rewire with active diffs and oil gear change and electronic handbrake lol that makes you scratch your head.
All I want is it to run how it should.
