drive belt/air con compressor question
« on: February 03, 2014, 11:25:02 AM »

My air con compressor has locked up solid even with the clutch disengaged. I don't have working air con anyway, my Jeep is just for green laning etc. so i would rather take the compressor out of the loop as it were. Is there a shorter drivebelt that I can buy to drive the fan, alternater, water pump etc. or am i stuck with replacing the seized compressor and using a standard length belt. Any help appreciated

Now sorted. Seems that a 2245 belt for a 98 tj non air con is the way to go

If in doubt run a string around your intended route measure it and Google search it .

I'm currently running a 1900mm vectra one

...or stick an idler pulley in there. The non-aircon jobbie sounds right to me.
