Overdrive woes.....
« on: April 17, 2006, 05:24:16 PM »

.....just stopped working, as things do. Green light still goes on & off above the switch but overdrive won't engage.....it has also started ticking over at 1500 rpm.....

98 zj Laredo, 73k mikes, lpg conversion (tickover the same on both gas & petrol)

The location of the "ah, easy they all do that. just tap this connector block" would be much appreciated!

I did try a search but couldn't find anything similar...

The switch turns the overdrive off. Basically, when the light is on, you have no 4th gear.

Re. Idle speed. remove the trottle body, take out the Idle Air Control motor and clean the gunge out of the airways.

Thanks for the advice re idle.......spraying carb & injector cleaner in there any good?

The overdrive isn't engaging or disengaging, no matter where the switch is....light off no fourth gear...  :(  I suspect a leccy connection but wondered if there was a common issue before I start trying to reinvent the wheels..
