Evening,

Is the MPG Calculator on the WK in U.S or UK MPG?

I know on the V8 WJ I had to convert to get the Uk equivilant MPG.

I think mine's US but it is also a euro-spec model from R.O.I. so might be a tiny bit different from standard UK models?

I may be way out of my depth here, but My KJ had those readouts in the overhead console and I was able to change them from the US calibration (mpg etc) to metric in the main menu...only problem was, it then gave you the consumption in litres/100 kms. No particular problem for me because that's how we do it over here.

It changes into US mpg though or that's what I think.

US gallon is obviously different to uk.

If the Body Control module is set for Europe, it will read US, if it is set for UK it will read imperial. It can't be changed by the customer.

You are quite right Jay...a US gallon is different to an Imperial gallon.

If it's reading 20mpg (US) then the real reading is a tad over 24mpg.(UK)

Don't I know it, last Friday I had it for the day. Playing about flooring it getting the front to raise under power.

Go on then, what has it been reading? Driven carefully mine will read 23-24 mpg which adjusted is 28-29 I think . Driven harder or towing it drops below 20 on the display so I stop looking at it.

Mine typically averages around 13mpg on the very short trip to work. Thankfully, on LPG that averages out to a cost-per-mile of about 23mpg equivalent. On a steady run, it indicates as much as 25 but no idea if that's imperial or US on mine, never bothered checking. Overall, it's only slightly worse than the old 4.0 XJ we had, which aint bad for a 5.7

I'd say yes, pretty happy.

There is a bit of 'hemi tick' but that goes once it warms up, this particular one has a bit of an issue on the gearbox that's been present since we got it - didn't spot it on the test drive. It can give harsh to 'good grief, that'll break something' shifts from 3rd to 4th when on very light throttle but perfect on anything more than that. This 'feature' hasn't changed at all since we got it 2 (or is it 3) years or so back so I've stopped worrying about the gearbox exploding now. When I did the service last year the oil in the box was spotless, the magnet was clean too, so whatever the problem is, it doesn't seem serious.

Quite like the grunt from the Hemi, like the interior & equipment, like the exterior looks, like the practicality of it.

The ride is still a bit 'trucky' compared to some other brands perhaps, but that's fine. The way it handles when pressing on is frankly quite remarkable for something so large, heavy and unspohisitcated.

I like it's 'sledgehammer' character - plain, simple, unpretentious and effective.

On the whole, yes happy.

Re the LPG, I had a Prinz Autogas system put on it. About the most expensive you can get, but you'd never know it was on LPG unless you looked at the display - no performance hit that I can detect whatsoever, seamless transition from petrol to LPG.

Noticed the pleather on the drivers seat has started to split a bit - it was a bit tired looking when we got it as I think the PO was a larger gentleman.
