I have OBDII scanner but other side of Manchester - and Jeep clutch has just given up on me! Although I do have alternative transport if can be some assistnce? I'm no mechanic but might be able to sort something to check for any fault codes?

Sorry for my late response my computer broke!! thank you for the offer to use your scanner but I managed to get to get a mechanic to look at it and he has done tests and told me he is 100% sure it the Ecu but now I am struggling to find a replacement!!






Any ideas would be great help thanks matt

Any '91-'95 PCM from a 4.0 XJ will do. They're 10 a penny.

An OBDII scanner will be no use on that anyway. Either cycle the key to get the flash codes or you need a DRBII or a DRBIII with OBD1 legacy software.

I have found a few but they have star head screws in the plastic casing will this be the same ecu and do the number on the ecu sticker have to match up?

It should work as long as the plug is the same.

Another option could be something like this:

Looks like £35 diagnostic fee, which is refunded if you get them to repair it. Repair is £140 plus parts, and at least you'd know it would fit and be the right ecu.

So still stuck I have Tryed the key trick nothing Happened, I have Also changed spark plugs, ht leads, crank and cam sensors and still absolutely nothing help!!!!

Have you had a scan for fault codes?
