Winch security solutions.

What do you use as an anti winch theft solution?.  Six bolts and the thieving bastards potentially could remove a winch and winch plate from a TJ.  Currently i have a f off big chain and mother of all mother padlocks, i've been looking into it and thought about the following.

Old school security......weld the nuts to the mounting plate.


Only downside you'll have to disc cut them off, but in how many years time will that be......

Probably not an option for a TJ mount but my last 2 XJ bumpers have been designed so the winch won't come out without removing most of the bumper fittings too. It's not beyond some thieving dids but is about 10 bolts that aren't easy to get to.

A small tack weld is probably enough to put most theives off.

If someone wants to steal it, then they will, even if it means taking the car. Do what you think is reasonable, and have good insurance :)
