Tapered wheel nuts

So I'm thinking of just using some nyloc nuts to hold my wheels on to save me cutting the 60 degree taper in the mount holes. I can't think of a reason not to, van anybody else?

As your wheels are lug centric the stress will mean that the wheel centre will try and rattle around on your lugs and that will roger the threads or the shaft of the lug ultimately causing failure. The tapered nut holds the wheel on and centres the lug hole so the threads of the lug do not rub.
At least that's how I understand it

The chance of getting the wheel centred on the hub with nylock nuts is virtually nil. Even if you managed it they would move anyway as you drove along. The vibrations would be horrific.

I have some McGard 1/2-20 taper locknuts somewhere. I'll have to see if I can find them. I think I have 20. I think I used 3 temporarily, which may be in the Jeep, but the rest are brand new never used. If I find them and have a set of 20 would you be interested? £45 posted.
