Thanks Mike, have had that done...
Full story...had the thing serviced by a "specialist"...ran fine for about 100 miles then the "check engine" light came on, something emissions sensor related I imagine. Have a look under the bonnet and the clips securing the airfilter housing are all undone and the plastic intake has fallen off the throttle body... reattach and the check engine light goes out but the idle is very erratic, drive for 20 miles and the idle settles down to extremely low....
Had the local jack of all trades workshop take the idle motor out and cleaned out loads of "deposits" ...no difference.
Is a TPS reset the answer? if it was reset by "the specialist" without the airfilter pipe correctly attached to the throttle body now the air is properly filtered is it causing the problem? am I talking nonsense?
