With no workshop or real area to do any modifications I have managed to upgrade the steering linkages.

Are these a bit OTT?

Downside is I have to drill the knuckles and box arm with a battery drill. Seems that might be fun or rejuvenate the genny

Nice idea :icon_winkle: Knuckles and pitman arm are cast and surprisingly soft, unless you have a blunt drill they drill really,really,really easily.

Are you drilling and inserting a tapered insert or using a tapered reamer......either works well just a question of getting the correct bits together before the job...... :icon_super:

Just got a set of drills and a reamer for the final size. Let's say these will take a calculated 15tons in shear force before the bolts deform

Well now swapped to rose joint steering, bars are twice the size of the o.e. rods. Drilling the hubs was simple as they are soft metal. Pitman arm was slightly harder and required resharpening due to the edge tips going dull. Managed to get all three holes drilled and teamed before the drill gave up. Just need to redo the bracket for the steering damper.
20mm rose joints and cap head bolts certainly tighten up the steering control and has minimised some of the wander.

Rose joints and weld in bushes were from McGill Motorsport. Yes some of the joints are in double shear but am I going to exert over 7.5t to bend the bolt? Setup does allow for later fitment of a lift, but as it stands its close to the front anti-rollbar on the passenger side
