TJ front caliper nighmares
« on: June 22, 2016, 06:00:22 PM »

Hi all, just changed both front calipers on my 1998 TJ, can't bleed them at all, pedal go's all the way to the floor, I have notice that the bleed nipples are below the banjo, are the calipers handed, I believe if I change them over it will put the nipple ( ooh err missis) above the banjo and therefore should be easier to bleed???? Or am I grabbing straws here, any help would be great!!!

Air always rises - sometimes it's not possible to change the calliper location... the easy answer is to bleed off the mount.

You could hang the caliper upside down with a cable tie but put something in the gap to stop the piston blowing out. Thats what I've done for a tempory repair in the past. Better off putting them the right way round.
