YJ hardtop onto a CJ?

Anybody done this?


I understand that they fit round the tub (including around the doors?...) but on a YJ the lift gate is held shut by the YJ's side hinged tailgate.


Will the lift gate close over the (bottom hinged) CJ tailgate?


What suggestions for a locking mechanism? (I currently do not have a YJ top to look at but there is one on Ebay...).


- First thought was that it seems possible that a CJ handle and mechanism could be "re-purposed"  Has anybody tried it?

I thought about doing this for the 6 but would have to do a lot of extensive lengthening and adaptive works to get it to work. I ran out of time and just couldn't come across a roof at a price that would allow me to play round with it.
