Can I cut my grill?

Hello,
Got me dad to make me up a winch plate, spent all day bodging it to fit, go to mount the 8274...fouling on the grill..air very blue!!!
if I cut the grill will this have any strucural effect on the front of the TJ?
Need to cut out the shape of a 8274 into the grill. Thought about moving the plate forward but this will foul my new bumper and inpact on my approach angle
so if i cut will the front fall off!!!
cheers
Mark

Second hand 8274, but going to upgrade with xp motor and bowrope
Used a 8274 on my landy, excellent for challenges and that is what I ultimately want to get back to doing with the TJ
was thinking about a low level winch but I am familiar with the 8274 and it is easily serviced

yup thats a great reason is there no way of raising the winch and maybe bringin it up to the edge of of the bumper as far foward as poss that wanky roll bar is a pain on tjs
