ProzacI used a battery that was too tall on my XJ I used some nylon webbing to strap in place, has passed an MOT like that Go for the cheap one and scrapheap up a restaint mechanism.

The XJ is not an offroader anymore, the webbing I use is as good as the shock tested straps used for holding the batteries that start emergency diesel fire pumps on warships The KISS (Keep It Simple Solution) principle applied and I had the strap to hand. The battery cost me £35 and has the same Ah rating as the old XJ battery

I had to cable tie the metal restraint shut then found I couldn't close the bonnet :?
