Removing electrical supply

Trying to permanently remove the power to the bumper mounted rear number plate lights

At the moment I've got a cable comes out of the drivers side rear whch splits into 2

I part feeds via a connection to the fog light

the other goes straight to the 2 rear plate lights

Proposing to just cut it off where it splits and bind the loose end thouroughly with electrical tape

Anyone got any alternative or better ideas?

If you can't find somwhere to roll it up and tuck it out of the way, just chop it off and tape it up.

Can't you poke it back into the body? behind the rear wheels is a flap that pulls down that you can tuck stuff above (I would cable tie it up there somehow)

Nah, don't cut it, just unplug the long bit, and tuck the rest up there.

If I remember right, the two numberplate lights are on flyleads anyway with plugs, so unplug them and tape the connectors. If you don't need the fog, I think that disconnects too...

Cutting wires generally leads to troubles later in life :)

Yup

Any truck after 1980 needs a fog light for the MOT.
