What experiance/opinions does anybody have on the ox lockers?

I like the simplicity of them and could be a sound future procurement.

I like the look of 'em. Controlable like ARB's without the need for air. When the CJ's sorted I'm thinking of having one in the rear axle.

thay do look like a nice peice of kit with the advantage of them being switchable. they do seem ££££ though. it might be worth askin eddy cos he is running the ox,s i think. if i where doing a tj i think i would have detroit in the tail and somethin switchable in the front or even leave it unlocked but run a truetrack or somethin.

Wouldn't put a Detroit in a TJ. Short wheelbase and automatic lockers don't mix on wet roundabouts.

i have a detroit in the yj with no problems what so ever. yes they are different on the street but if ya wanna blast round wet roundabouts buy a scooby or somethin like that. at least there is very little to go wrong with the detoit and they just work. what are you runnin mike? i am sure you must have said but i do the memory of a goldfish. :roll:

The CJ has PowerTrax No-Slips front and rear, with free wheeling hubs on the front. I only realy notice(d) them when pulling out of a junction. You can hear and feel the tyres scrub or 'chirp'.

They are available for the TJ.

ARBs in the XJ. Had a YJ with a Powertrax NoSlip in the rear, found the handling could get rather interesting.

you are right about the no slip in the yj,s i had one for a while but then ended up with the detroit. the no slip just seemed much more clunky than the detroit is. i like the arb,s but for me there is just to much to go wrong with em. i like good old mechanical clunkers :shock:

They look good at a price...the cable idea is a good simple one.
Are you looking to get them for the front and rear? Or just for the front?

i am sure that some of the us stockists were dropping them from there lines due to somkind of manufacturing isues......... i have power trax no slips front and rear in the scrambler and i think they super for the price the performance is fantastic i managed to drive home from an event with a bust half shaft ant take my wife to hospital on the night to give birth to no4 and a week or too back i was able to drive off the road that i was blocking after finding i had got only 3 wheels on my wagon they are gggggreat........o do have a pair of detroight ez lockers to fit to a cj soon so will see how they work

I was thinking of front and rear. I need to regear at the same time as going larger wheels so was thinking of saving up and doing the lot early next year.

But if putting one of these in the front means having to upgrade more stuff because of the the strain placed on the steering components etc then I would have to rethink if too costly.

I like the idea of being able to drive open diff on a trail and be able to engauge the locker should I need it. That way I still maintain the feeling of what the truck will do combined with "hopefully" increasing driver experiance and skill and then if that fails kick the locker in. If you have a soft locker (I mean I dont really know as I have no experiance of them) I am guessing the locker does a lot for you and you dont know if what made the trial easier was the locker, the truck or driver skill and experiance.

I like the idea of being completely open diff for on road also. Just in case.

I know this idea is completely impracticle but I am the kind of person who would like to see 5 exactly the same trucks drive a trail. One without lockers, then 4 with different brands and combinations and see how they perform. Then pick what suits my needs best.

Impracticle I know but the answers you guys give me all builds a picture and helps me a great deal. Thanks
