TJ electrics for towing point

This may be a stupid question, but does the TJ have points/connectors ready to connect the electrics connector for a trailer? Or do they have to be wired into existing cables?

I am going to connect a sanky trailer and want to sort out the electrics and nato hitch before picking one up.

if the sankey is still wired up military style you would be better off takeing a marker board with you as they have plug on them with i think 10 pins. i converted mine to a conventional plug when i got it home which was fun because all the wires are yellow and there is too many of them.

When we did my Dads TJ we wired in to exisiting electrics but we didn't look to see if there were any connets for a tow plug

I noticed when replacing my rear bumber that the connections for tail lights, fog and number plate lights all have proper connections and did not know if there was a kind of inline adapter that does all the hard work for you.  8)

You can buy a towing loom from Jeep that simply plugs into the connector situated in the space between the offside rear quarter and the offside rear wheel, i.e. behind the tail light cluster. Access is via the plastic cover at the bottom of the offside rear of the tub.

Thanks for the pointer but my local dealership no longer stocks them for 97/98 TJ's I was told to go to my local auto centre, but they have not got a clue. Any more ideas would be very helpfull.

they are real easy to wire up mate. just get your self the hook up and patch it in to the wires whare ever you can get to them easily. you are more than welcome to nose at the one in spongebob at the weekend dood. 8)
