Supercharger?
« on: September 08, 2007, 10:38:30 PM »

Hi,

Anyone on here running a charger on their TJ, or anything like different profile cams, ported head etc?

Itching to do something that would put a smile ( sorry a bigger smile ) when i drive it.  Would ultimately like a V8 swap- anyone suggest someone that can do or has done? With regards to a v8  it has to be a gm, ford or chevy rather than a british rover one!

please put out of my misery and help me feed my addiction!

Fuel economy etc doesnt interest me by the way.

Supercharger? Ask on J33P. Thats in their league. A few of them have one, usually fitted by Gasser.

There are a few running with Avenger supercharger kits. Adds about 75 BHP IIRC for around $2500. FTE fitted one recently too.

When my dad were a lad they used to put Spitfire (Supermarine, not Triumph) heater blowers on Austin Sevens as a sort of supercharger.

i saw an advertisment for a new blower that mounts to the 4.0 liter high output. it's relatively new. they have one for the chevy 350 that's a belt drive with a clutch to disengage it (yes, like mad max)

there's the link, if you want to check it out
