well finally go the rear axle on the grand stripped and ready to rebuild and ive discovered why it went bang.

the new carrier bearings on one side when fitted didnt have much play..... about 3mm :cry:  :cry:

new axle has now been sourced and on its way

£295 for replacement axle wast to bad.
