Tyres
« on: October 07, 2007, 12:37:16 PM »

I think something just went wrong on the computer so if this comes up twice, sorry.

Anyway... just got round to ordering my first mods being a 2 inch teraflex lift. I am now looking at tires whilst that is in transit. I've looked at 31x10.5. Seen Colawy C Trax MT and Cooper Discoverer STT. Both seem to be quite well thought of but would like to know birty views if anyone has any. NB. I don't do too much driving and so am not too worried about daily road use.

Cheers

I used to run Colway mud tyres on my XJ, and found that it was a soft compound which is quick to wear, so don't expect them to last as well as other tyres.

I had no problems with them on road, although I was given the advice to drive carefully when using mud tyres, especially in the wet.  Their performance off road was good.

My daily tyres were General Grabber ATs, which were excellent on the road, and seem to last longer than the Colways for tarmac driving.

I ran Greenway Macho's on the Landy, damn good for the money and nice looking too. Wouldn't want to run muds permanently on the Cherry they'd be bit noisey and if your pushing along I would think the tread blocks would move quite a bit compared to a more road biased tyre.
