CJ7 wheels?
« on: January 14, 2008, 08:17:26 AM »

Mornin, aside from the moral issues, any known technical issues with sticking 15x10 (255/60X15 I think) vitara wideboys on a CJ7?

cheers for your help/time, not overly flush at the moment so I dont wanna waste my time.

going by that and using reverse theology of the 31x10.5x15 tyre equates to a

according to http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html 31/10/15 it works out as 255/80/15, which would be very helpful if I had any clue visually what that looks like!

ignoring the price, and the shipping, do any of these visually equate? :supz:

Right then Bulldog, these tyres are 31" tyres on 15" rims.

My Avatar shows my TJ with 33" tyres.

Right, I think I get it, my original idea was embarrassingly shite  :Hangman: , and I now need anything up to 33's, after that I need to make modifications to fit them (modifications that realistically won’t be happening to 2009!).

If I’ve got that right, cheers dudes, if I haven’t got that right, feel free to throw in the towel of explanation, I may be beyond help!

Hopefully I have something wheel wise in the pipeline, if not, I will be keeping an eye on the sale board.

Again, much appreciated  :supz:

Modifications WILL be required to fit 33's

Minor (free) modifications, if any, required to fit 31's (steering lock bolt needs adjusting sometimes IIRC)

Do you remember the ‘not the 9 o’clock news’ sketch where a bloke goes into a shop to by a ‘record player’, but he aint got a clue what he wants when they start talking about tweeters and woofers? Well, that’s me that is, right here, right now! Im mildly ashamed to say that when i viewed the CJ I looked lovingly at the auto box and big fuk off speakers (that may or may not have tweeters!) and handed over my cash. I have to go from tech virgin to beaten up old tech whore very quickly!

Anyway, I digress, before I once again vacuum my rapidly expanding (expanding via a vacuum - feels wrong although that’s probably just me, scientists explain please!) CJ inspired overdraft, what is a lifted shackle and why do I need it?

There was a time (last week|) when I believed ignorance was bliss, another life rule scrubbed off the list…bollocks!  :supz:

As usual, cheers
