Steering column top bush/bearing
« on: January 15, 2008, 07:17:19 PM »

Hi, got round to stripping steering column to change steering top bush, got bearing out no problem.

The problem is I can't locate a bearing, has anybody ever changed one if so where did you get the parts from.

by the way the stealers don't supply it.

If all else fails I will get one made up out of Nylatron, but would prefer proper bearing.

Nope, looks like it's not available anywhere.

has the bearing got any numbers on it ?

if not measure the id, od and thickness(depth of bearing) and then check a bearing supplier for one of the same size.

yup. most bearing places will match what you need but your measurements need to be right. use a calliper or micrometer. 8)
