How much time have we got to sort all the stuff that needs doin' before Cheap Fest????

From what I've gethered it's gona be best if we can get the committee meet sorted sooner rather than later.  That'll give us plenty of time to sort stuff out.

So......... a venue and a date?????

ok time for me to stick me neck out and maybe upset a few folks at the moment the club status is this..........the democratic republic of birtyland were there is no elected president and no elected bunch clicky wankers who spend most of there time just being important       the rac msa rules and regs would bring just that a load of represive rules and regs that would ruin the frendly family nature of the club and  spoiling forever what myself and a few others strove to bring to this club by starting birtys the only comitee very loosley has just been those trying to help with cheapfest and to help with ideas of any kind that might be fun and i see nothing wrong with our club the way it is         so i say this debait the subject online and air all your views but i do think now i have had the opertunaty to look in to it that it would do more harm than good to this beacon of freedom in jeepland and offroading in general

i agree with the sheriff on this one, it would be the easy rute for the pli but i do think it would chang the overall feel of birtys. therefore maybe not the way to go. we are chasing up other ideas as i type. so any other ideas would be welcome from you guys. 8)

OK then:

I have an idea which in a round about way could help. :?

I'm gona be fitting a lift kit soon (it arrives Thursday  ).

I don't have space at my place, I park on the road, so I would have to pay a garage to do the work.

If anyone can supply somewhere for me to do the work, and some help would be nice

OMG, it's the start of the end.... :(

Please don't let it become officious with everyone trying to make their own "buck" out of it. Have watched that happen to the POCUK (Pajero Club) and it's lost the social side, it's all about advertising, how much bandwith you waste by hijacking threads and general chat etc etc.

I for one am really grateful to two specific breakaway clubs, this one and an ex LRO club that have started their own "All Marques" club locally here in Kent where Banter is activly encouraged.

I do Appreciate the probs will PLI as well. How much are we talking to cover the event if we did it ourselves? are we talking about making nothing out of the event if we have to do this, or worse still losing money by running it?

Curious because maybe between us we can afford to cover the cost on the basis that if the club doesn't make money out of it, then we get the same percentage back from the club as we put in. Maybe it's clearer if I put it like this.

Say the insurance costs £1000
Say I put in £100 towards that (ie 10%)
If the club only made £900 out of this, I would get my 10% back (£90)
if the club make £1000 then I get my £100
but if the club makes £2000, then I still only get my £100 back, but that in turn has helped put the extra into the kitty.

How many are we expecting at Cheapfest? I have not looked recently, but can we do an early booking bonus where if you send the money in early, it saves you loads. this could certainly help cash flow, help give an earlier indication of numbers, and those that apply late / pay on the door pay extra for that priviledge (Spelling?)

Anyway, I started at 8am, and have just finished work so am going to get some shut-eye as I have to start work again about 1am ish :( This will probably look a real daft idea in the cold light of day

Don't panic! It's not the start of the end. This is why the MSA stuff is questionable for us.

I think we need to get some more info about costs of PLI and cover available and then work out what is going to be of greatest benefit to us all and the charity we've nominated. None of us want to jeopardise the wonderful thing which is Birty's.

But I've got to say I think the % idea is a great one.  :)

I must agree with bubba and greggmo, the one thing that makes this club so enjoyable is the fact that it is down to earth were everyone can have the same amount of input and get involve as much or as little as thet want.

I do like the idea of % for the pli but lets wait and see what other opions we my have.

Got to agree with KD (Arse thats twice this week) given the choice of a formal commitee & a bunch of friendly folk occasionally getting together for offroading, helping each other out technically, drinking & just plain socialising, the choice for me is an easy one.

Do we have any idea how much we have been quoted for the PLI.

Pardon my ignorance but is this PLI for all events we attend or just for the Cheapfest bash ?

Yes, we need PLI for the froadin part of Cheapfest but having it would also give us access to some other cool sites too...........
