Right, here goes, possibly an odd one. My CJ has been stripped out inside, shotblasted and welded etc where it needed it. It now needs something being put down inside. Apologies to the mud lovers but i only ever intend to use mine in the summer months, and certainly wont be having a roof on, but obviously i may get caught in the odd shower (you only get wet if you drive slowly!), so i want the inside sealed so i can just dry it off with a towel when i get home. The budget is non existant at the moment so my mate the mechanic has been asking around for the best/cheapest option, the suggestion that i am getting back is to use swimming pool paint (you can get it in black apparently, dont fancy aquamarine!!), which sort of makes sense, but also doesnt. Cost is gonna be £50 approx.

so, my question is, anyone have any opinions on the use of swimming pool paint to seal an interior?

and should i be keeping an eye out for candid camera?

as long as it doesn't 'chip' like hammerite, it should be fine.
peeps also use POR 15 or Durabak

truck bed liner paint thats what my xj had done on the inside .

it rubberised and wont chip

protekacote rhino skin or something  like that

All the above are good but you could also try black stonechip (spray on bullshit, as it's known in the trade! )

Herculiner works well.  Available from http://http://www.specialist-leisure.co.uk/index.php  or at least it used to be.

Don't think it's in the online catalogue you'll have to call 'em.

cheers fellow birtys, researched, reviewed and priced etc, swimmin pool paint has got the boot - it really wasnt sittin right, couldnt get vibrant blue out of my mind - and protekacote rhino skin just purchased. appreciate all the suggestions, gave me stuff to compare. nice

will get the pics up shortly, went for protectakote, was a labour of love puttin it on and will pierce yer skin once dry if you lean on it, to be honest i dont like it, sure it will do the job but i was thinkin bout something i would have half a chance of wipin out when wet/muddy, this stuff will shred a cloth quicker than glass shards.

So, come spring its gettin a half dozen coats of swimming pool rubber paint after all, see if it will smooth out a bit.

you can get protectakote quite smooth, dont use the blue roller you get in the kit, use a foam glossing roller and it dont 'pick up' the rubber bits.

personly i like the grippy effect in my CJ, but your right it can hurt if you lean on it to hard
