snorkel on a 4ltr xj?

ok i dont know if this ones been covered allready but here goes,whats the point in a snorkel on a petrol as soon as it gets wet its gonna stop? or is it just for the sake of a cold air feed?(or am i making a tit of myself :wink:

it will stop your engine from filling up with H2O, which is not a good idea.

This is why you need to have a snorkel on your XJ.  Mine is the Black XJ at the end of the vid. :lol:

This is a few pics of the snorkel on my TJ.  The same idea can be used on an XJ. Just patch the stock intake hole on the front of the box with a pice of sheet metal or thick plastic, and RTV.  Then make a hole in the side of the box with a hole saw.  Run the PVC pipe from the hole in the box to the fire wall.  Then make a hole in the firewall with your hole saw.  silicone everything, and you are all set.  You will be able to drive in water up over the hood with out worry.
I will be building one for a friends XJ in the next couple days I can send more pics if you need them.  Good luck.
