Replacing ZJ Lights (Pics)

Word up

For those unfortunate enough to have their glass go awol (due to a bad adhesive compound, apparently) or have a stone through their headlight, I can confirm that you can fit US-spec lights and get them aligned at the MOT place under the 'British American' beam pattern category.

US lights have 9004 or 9007 bulbs, which frankly, are not as powerful as the H4s that we use in Europe.

I fitted a set of Angel eyes like this:-

Some points to note:-

1) To avoid splicing into your ZJ's wiring, you can fabricate some H4 male connectors to 9004 female
2) The ZJ light has 3 sockets on the back (like a hip socket), that push onto 3 prongs.  The top prong connects to the autoadjuster
3) The position of the top prong in the US is different, so you'll have to fabricate\alter this to ensure it fits to your European ZJ
4) Both sides imported for about £140 inclusive.  I didn't get hit for customs either which is nice.

Removal of the old ones and what it looks like behind:-

I hope that's useful, if you don't want to spend £200+ per light, at your local Chrysler dealer.
