Locking Wheel nuts
«
on:
July 12, 2008, 02:17:09 PM »
recently bought an XJ and now discovered I have a problem ...locking wheel nuts with NO adaptor/key to remove them.
The nuts are round with 3 holes in each as if the adaptor/Key should have 3 pins built into it?
any ideas where i can get one of these or has anyone tried to remove the nuts without adaptor/Key if so how??
HELP!!!!!!

gorilla grip sockets work on those... or a slightly smaller socket hammered on to them. A mate has the same lock nuts on his car and has broken his key so I've offered my services as I have a few old sockets kept just for this type of job.

Slice the stainless sleeve off the outside with a small chiesel then hammer a 17mm impact socket over it.
