Home Made Tyre Swing
« on: July 27, 2008, 06:59:27 PM »

Having bought the Warn rear bumper I decided to see how much the tire swing was for it.  After I had finished grief counseling and returned to reality I decided to fabricate my own.   Even having brought a chop saw to cut the steel it still cost 50% less than buying one.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers

Stainless steel toggle clamp, from memory 180Kg closing force.  Its been on for 12 months now without a problem so it appears to be doing its job.  I have atached a larger image below.

Unfortunately I would not have the time to build another one, as we have just brought a 1936 Austin Seven Ruby as a project car to do up.  Currently stripping it out to remove the body to strip it down to just a chassis and then start rebuilding it.
