Yeah, but i would get what i want...... i am by no means a pro or know it all when it comes to offroad 4links or what makes a rig do what. but i knew what i wanted to be able todo. High speed bombing runs (lots of skinny pedal in open space), massive amounts of flex for slow crawling, and a predicable rig. that lead me to alot of reading, research, 4link write ups and then more rereading to understand things. which in the end was just as deadly as knowing nothing, b/c now i know just enough(or so i think i do! lol)
but if youve ever looked at comp rigs in the states you can find all sorts of different link set ups, i went with fairly simple link angles with lots of adjustment. at the right angles and lengths this is give very small changes in how it acts as the axle moves........

in the end if you know what you want - its not really hard, you just have to commit to it and run with it. it will all be flat boxed in the end with storage under it. alot like a 90 lol

with what you are doing and the last project you did, you cant call yourself an ameture. The research and build quality/look is just as good as any pro shop build. Looking forward to seeing the finished article.

does the picture show the the rear axle fully adjustable for nose angle ?

thanks - i do try but still nowhere near how i want things. most of what you see, even as simple as the the lower axle mounts have been remade a few times over. and im usally happy while im making it and pissed off about it a day later lol

i take it you mean pinion - drive shaft angle??? nope the rear is point almost dead straight at the rear of the t-case. which looks to be almost stock spot for the mogs. the adjustable upper mount on the frame are to change the way the suspension behaves. the lower the mounting hole the higher the anti-squat goes. but no matter where it is the number wont change much over 10degrees from ride height to full bump

started mocking up the front links, i knew this was gonna be a pita but geeze man.........

front cross member - same as the rear, just didnt need to be shaved to clear the tranny like the rear did for the t-case

lower frame mounts - will be exactly like the rears

frame upper mounts - this is where the problems start

tried to measure and mock things, but still not sure - but pretty sure the tire will rub the links
lower is easy to fix upper..........yeah yeah yeah
i put it outside the frame cause at full bump the link itself wants to hit the bottom of the motor mount
left side is tight with the driveshaft and exhaust - right side is tight with the starter motor

i see more chopping and a set of bent upper links coming

I know its a bit ahead of where ya at at the mo. However you mentioned about the seating arrangement and alike last week. Pulled these of Pirate awhile back, may be of some help. Nicely ties into the cage.

still dealing with the front upper link issues, but i got some ideas and alittle done here and there.......

this is the front cross member, same as the rear just not tapered to clear the tcase
and it only took me half a day and a good handful of wasted metal - still need bracing and what not

now thats a stance - still small tires if you ask me -

-gonna have todo something bout that

now thats how it should have some from the factory, alittle lower and tilted
might even go lower with it

front and rear break over angles - killer even with small tires

so bent uppers under the motor mount its is - blah blah blah

That is looking very cool mate.

I like the link setup all around, not sure about the front lower link x-member though looks a bit weedy.

Those front upper links should clear 40's, mine are in nearly the same place and clear 38's by miles

havent gotten alot of time on the jeep lately, work is complete crap and life just gets in the way. but slowly getting bits and pieces done.
cleaning the old of the frame is just urber slowwwwww

and with a set of extra hands decided to see what happens when you flex a three link with the panhard bar....

one eye'd flying purple people eater....

just gotta finish cleaning it up and get it straight and flat or at least as flat as i accept it

well my welder went tits up this weekend, so much for "good" weekend. with alittle help from the wife - we got something done, the relay for the wire feed was stuck on, so basicly she turned it on and off while i was holding the trigger - talk bout a pita. lol
we were both wanting to "see something" - so time for the backend trimming
before.....

ill get the part for the welder tomorrow, hopefully finish front frame and link mounts, and see what she looks like with all four wheels on the ground

hey now, ya know i dont like jeeps.....

no really, its all jeep, even used scrap from the trimming to fill in the holes, and patch the 2 dents your cj gave my tj

so after a couple hours driving round the wife gave up looking for the part i needed for my welder and started calling around. hopefully well know something tomorrow.
since i couldnt weld, i cut more......................
no not more body - rear uppers, soon as i can weld ill box them in and the rear link mounts are finally finished

then started on the rear coilover mounts

the outer plate picks up on 5 bolts, inner plate picks up on 3 bolts
