Fuel Gauge
«

Right, next problem!
Filled her up with diesel yesterday, done 250 miles and the fuel gauge is still showing full! When the ignition goes off the gauge drops, but when turned back on the gauge goes straight up to full!
Any ideas? :? :? :?

A Jeepers Dream perhaps.....
Sounds like the fuel sender either stuck / blocked. Soz, can't help much more than that.
I reckon you must own the Eastenders Jeep... new episode every week

Gonna go out and clout the tank a few times with a hammer, maybe loosen it!

My fuel gauge plays up too, goes from actual to empty, especially if the engine is left idling for a second or three, then it comes back up again. A squirt of the old WD40 sorts it out for a while.

Hmmm... Maybe not eh......
*Runs for cover*
I'm sure one of the guys will tell you how to sort it... probably through a plate in the floor of the boot, but not sure..... (So don't go ripping your boot apart just yet)

The one on my XJs the same! It still shows 1/2 a tank when it's empty!!
Think it's just one of them Jeep things we don't understand! :?
I know there was a recall of later model cherrys to replace the sender unit, but as she says Manda's TJ is the same so I think it's probably just a crap design

With all the mud you get onboard, it is either dirty terminals/connector block or a stuck sender..........
DONT hit it with a hammer......is this the extent of your mechanical ability???

Don't hit the tank with with a hammer you'll loosen any crap stuck in there, then you'll be haveing more problems. Mind you from what I've heard about your offroading it's probably all shaken free anyway. Am I to late?
