today will be a wheel swapping day on a visiting jeep plus some messing about with a winch  and a review of any jobs for mot on  chugga as it looks like it will be pressed back in to family service as the floater is simply not working out with maxx he says its gay too

the bastard is lurking in the project bay a waiting it turn but has to wait as there is another jeep awaiting its tyres and a tickle up for its mot
there has been a lot of nothing going on in the last 3 months or so

Out playing yesterday & Sarah was just about to tackle a twisty descent, said sonething dont feel right, I had a look, pedal went to floor, sprung a leak in a brake pipe, game over for the day  :010:

Was winched down a very tight steep desent in a couple of goes & stop half way to strap to a tree, thanks to chaps around us & manged to drive off the site & to gateway to await AA.

TJ recovered to MJS & with the assisistance of another Jepp & judicious use of throttle, mamaged to park it in the garage.

I await news from MJS HQ

a word of warning  to all you tj guys      looking under the drivers  wing where it meets the chassis rail there is a gay rubber skirt afair to keep crap from the wheel station going in the engine bay
well where it goes behind the spring /shocker tower  this skirt lies on top of the two brake pipes that run there along the chassis rail [directly under the air box so hard to see]  it traps all the dirt on top of these pipes but as i say very hard to see but it seems to stay damp under this skirt to the point of corroding them dangerously they can not be seen here on mot or any normal inspection

please take the airbox out and remove the skirt and inspect this 8 inches of pipe it may be shot     gazes jeep has good pipes all round but his had corroded in this damp dirt trap to the point of failing

please note no amount of jet washing or looking will clean them out  go look before you have problem guys
