Morning Guys and Gals,
A litttle help please. The electric seats on my 1996 Cherokee Limited 4 litre have decided to stop working. So easy thought was the fuse has blown...nah, the wiring diagram shows a circuit breaker. So find the circuit breaker - simple, nah...two different sets of wiring diagrams and still no joy. According to both the circuit breaker is No29, but can I find it. My fuse board is totally different to those in both the owners handbook and the manual I downloaded from the internet. Both suggest it's under the dash, one on the right  and one on the left of the steering column. The actually fuse board which goes up to 28 is on the right of the column. If any body can point me in the right direction to find circuit breaker 29 I would greatly appreciate as her who must be obeyed can't reach the go and stop pedals at the mo!!!

It may not be them there c b. On my old one the wires had disintergrated on the joints under the passengers seat ,so had to put new lengths in and that was sorted. Had to remove the seats first and pull carpet back and found the poorly connector block under the passenger seat towards the central tunnel.

x 2 The wires in the seats tend to end up breaking after a period of time as a consequence of all the arses that sit on them. Check the wires.

You are looking at the wrong circuit diagrams. The circuit breaker you refer too is in the facelifted XJ not the earlier one.

It might be a chafed wire grounding under the seat so check the wires there for signs of damage.

You need to check fuse 1 (30 amp) on your fuse panel. Also check fuse 3 (40 Amp) in the under hood power distribution center which feeds fuse 1 in the fuse block.

Morning Chaps,
Well spent Boxing day morning with the seats out, checked all the fuses, couldn't find a thing wrong. So rewired both seats from fuse No1 under the dash and hey presto they work again. Downside was finding the passenger side floor under the carpet to be full of water....hmmm another little issue to solve. But didn't stop us green laning around the Peak Distrcit yesterday with the Bofa4x4 boys and girls.
