Reverse Flushing
« on: January 22, 2009, 06:26:08 PM »

evening all. i have just bought a 1996 2.5td cherokee and i'm going to give it the full service treatment this weekend. I have been told i should reverse flush the rad but i have never done this and dont know how its done. can it be done at home or is it a garage job?  also, how do i refil the system without getting any airlocks?

i am used to working on little suzuki sj's which dont have any of these issues.

cheers,
joel.

reverse flushing just means sticking the water in at the bottom of the rad and sending  out fo the top, you can do it both ways to make sure its flowing well.(best done with a hose pipe)
take the airfilter box out and you will find the bottom rad hose  ( well better access to remove it).
you should be able to do it situ but it could get a few things wet
