Alloy wheel fitments for my Jimmy
« on: March 04, 2009, 09:11:41 AM »

Hi,

I'm just new to this forum and I need help already! Jimmy is the name of my beloved Grand Cherokee incase you are wondering what Jimmy is in the title of my post!

I have 17" Jeep alloys on now but fancy some bigger ones, the ones I like are from an 06 Grand Cherokee Overland and are 18" with 245/60/R18 tyres on them. They are 5 stud.

My Jimmy is a 51 plate 4.7 V8 and currently I have 235/65/R17 tyres on.

Does anyone know if they will fit? Or where can I find a list of compatible sizes as it is taking me ages on the net with no luck!

Thanks guys and dolls.

Nadine :-D

PCD is the same, so they will go on, and the offsets are within 10mm of each other. As to whether they will rub - probably not, but you pays your money, you takes your choice.

You're unlikely to find a de-facto answer on here, we're into off-road Jeeps, where we like smaller wheels and fatter tyres, so we don't have much experience of pimped Jeeps. We will help all we can though.

Thanks guys, I've made a bit of progress too today. I know the bolt pattern is 5 x 127 I just need to find out if the new Grand Cherokee Overland has the same.

Will post some pics, I wouldn't mind having a go off road, a couple of my friends do green laning and it looks like great fun!

Thanks,

Nadine  :-)

Thanks guys, wish me luck. Do any of you have names for your Jeeps then or is it just me.

Pics soon when I work out how to do it. Posting on here was hard enough..... but I am a good driver though!

I think it's a woman thing. When I first saw the title of the post, I thought you were talking about a GMC Jimmy.
A Jimmy was a large SUV that in later years became a midsize for some reason. Not available in the UK.

There's a post in the "Forum admin" section that tells you how to attach photos.

I recon your right Tim, Tan calls her VW Beetle 'Brian', after the magic roudabout. and she calls my CJ 'the other woman' for some unknown reason
