Just had the box serviced by Automatic Gearbox Specialists at Bridgetown near Cannock,when the sump pan was removed a small amount of filings was found around the mag plug,how serious is this please,motor has done just over 119k.
Guy seemed non commital,saying he had tried the Jeep out and all seemed well with the box.

this is normal for very small filings they look almost like fur stuck to the magnet large chips and filings are not good but what you describe would not bother me a bit

Filings are standard fitment on those boxes.

Phew thanks for that guys,I was quite worried for a while,yes they did look like a fur around the magnet,just a slight covering,having had to replace boxes in my Dodge and Rangie,I thought oh no not again,can rest easy again,,
