Failed MoT

Hiya,the ole gal just failed her MOT :( ,on a split CV joint boot,local guy reckons he cant do it as special tools are required.
Question..Does any one know a good Jeep guy in the Tamworth / Birmingham area please,caravan holiday in France looming up in just about 10days so obviously need it fixed pretty quick,I know its abit late in the day to get the MOT done but only just realized it ran out whilst we were away,your help would be appreciated.  :D

Special tools? :shock:  For a WG Grand Cherokee CV boot;
1 Jack up Jeep (requires jack)
2 Support Jeep (requires axle stand)
3 Remove front wheel (requires 3/4 socket)
4 Remove brake caliper (requires any 13mm spanner)
5 Remove brake disc (requires 1, maybe 2 hands and poss hide hammer)
6 Remove hub assembly and driveshaft complete (requires 13mm 12 point socket, possibly also a hammer and WD40)
7 Remove CV boot (requires pliers)

Erm, hate to hijack a post.... but is it that easy to change the hub too??? I have two arriving tomorrow :) Or do I need Ball Joint Splitters end that....

er...oh right,its that easy eh...hmm better get my 13yr old grandson to do it then,unfortunately I am afflicted with 2 left hands.. :D

Ed. Same job except you need to seperate the hub from the driveshaft. You would have to find a strong socket to fit the driveshaft nut and a very strong knuckle bar to undo it as the nut will be FT. Undo it with the wheel on and the Jeep on the ground. Get someone to hold the brake on while you do it.

Any idea what size socket I need for the drive shaft bolt ???

My Mechanic is going away and has offered to lend me the larger sockets, breaker bar and the beast of a torque wrench to do the work :)

235Nm when you do it back up !!!!!! blinkin eck... going to have to eat some more chocolate I think... My Torque wrench only goes to 210Nm

Very nice mechanic he is... :)
