coz i got an engineless and gearboxless lifted cj7 sittin behind a shed somehwere is rural kent that im thinkin can be punted out as an un-mot'd truck that has an engine/box sittin the bed for the lucky punter to stick in themself. fleabayers are sellin at around what i paid for it but the only spare engine & box i got at the moment is the 360/th400, i really really dont wanna lost that until i know what else is gonna be sittin on my drive in the near future.

im guessin 'super sexy rebuilt' will be cost prohibitive, so maybe one of FJ's rattlers will still be the best option, or I will just sling in the rover V8 instead

small update,

wiring loom mods completed, some rerouting some extending.

have the repaired radiator back, not found a fan cowl but have plenty of ally sheet here so might fab a basic cowl for now,

Bubbas loan of an exhaust has been a life saver as fenderwells on back order with 4wd, they should be here and fitted Monday if gaskets arrive in time from Lighthouse.

that just leaves 2 main rad hoses to sort, might be able to use one or both from original but recon they may be perished, if so I will have to acquire new, prob easiest will be to get silicons from local tuner shop.

if all goes to plan will be drivable by next weekend, and with luck Dave will have some room in his workshop over the weekend and i can get some fine tuning done, i.e. reroute some pipes, fit centre console and radio and tune the engine ready for some little event coming up the weekend after :icon_jook:

Rad is now fitted bar bottom hose, when I used old hose the fan hit it, sort of circular saw style. got a plan so not to worried.

Headman headers repaired and one side fitted, had to remove sliders as they were where the four into one wanted to be, again no biggy as will just make new mounts but not urgent.

and we're not going again :010:

engine runs allright but still got a petrol leak from carb body (not pipe this time), and it will need a rebuild. Rad is doing a great impression of a colander and needs a recore plus there are various leaks from the hoses, will need some new and some of the castings will need cleaning a bit better. there's no way i can get funds together in time so i think i'm going to wait till all the bits are here and aim to be ready for Birtys Breakout in March

I'm now off to drown my sorrows in pizza

 no more fuel leak

rads been taken to Advanced Cooling, and after a chat with the bloke he has given me an upgrade option, can have the standard twin core that is currently fitted or make it a triple core, price difference is about 20 quid and should give a 30% efficiency increase. :003:
