hmmm, to be fair to me it was u lot that said my D44's were dooooooooomed

that bein said, while it is entirely my fault, coz the Bastard only went in for a gearbox swap and 2wd part time kit fitted, the fact that it aint home and i aint drivin it is the problem, coz if it were home i would just be drivin it, but all the time its sittin there i keep thinkin 'may as well get that done while its there'

again tho, to be fair to me, who coulda guessed i would sleuthed down a bargain 401, or sleuthed down a well priced 6" FSJ lift kit in the UK, both rare as hens teeth so both were not items i could turn down, and i am of the opinion if ya gonna commit to doin summink, then do it properly or wholeheartedly, or dont do at all

but i dont disagree with what y'all sayin, im learnin shit all the time by askin questions, in fact, to a non jeep person i can even sound like i know what WTF im talkin about

decision tho is im gonna stack my cards behind Greggmo & Bubba and as soon as I have sold my new BFG 35's I will be sleuthin for 37's and be damned, im bankin that if and when i break anything i will have the CJ back as back up anyway

im even committed to not makin any more demands of MJS or Phatphux (this time around!) on the Bastard, nothin more to be done other than get it rollin and re-inforced

ps. im even committed to not lookin thru my 4ft stack of JP mags for a few weeks

failure and breakages are all in to how heavy your right foot is and where your stuck.

learning to control the right foot is always best, a big engine tyres and left is good but but when your stuck and someone drives through with a mnear std vehicle and small engine with no problems it does make you feel a bit daft

To be fair i can understand you way of thinking but by doing it all at once your missing the fun of learning.

what about forgetting the lift and going for drop with long arms and bumpstopping the upward movement, would be impressive on articulation

this is something real as Bubba will mention. a lifted jeep still relies on the wheel wells being capable of allowing the wheel to fit inside when articulating. by swapping the suspension to a long arm setup it then allows the wheels to drop further and remain in contact with the ground still giving traction. altering the bumpstops reduces the upward travel of wheels into the wheel arch reducing the amount of damage possibly sustained from contact and excessive trimming.

Self build is probably what I'd do if I did it again. Definitely spend money on quality fittings like Johhny Joints on all ends though. Plus if you build your own you may as well link the rear and fit coils too!
