« on: February 15, 2013, 06:14:21 PM »

where do I start

last weekend I replaced the fusebox module, the alarm fecked about for an hour or so, but its been fine , till yesterday  :banghead: it refused to start for me mum in the doctors surgery car park  :banghead:
it was starting and running for 3 secs, Imobiliser, hmph, disconnected the battery, went home to get changed (I had been to a funeral  :icon_sad: ) wandered back  just spun over, bollocks was gonna leave the kin thing there anyway.
me mate went to recover the kin thing this lunch time, key fob didn't work, but the kin thing started  :011:
plugged the drb in this arvo, here's what DTCs it reeled off  :jpshakehead:

SKM dtcs
1, serial link faliue
2, PCM status failure

VTS dtcs
1, BCM messages not recieved
2, Siren EEPROM failure
3, No serial communication.

ECM dtcs
1, mil/diag lamp via J1850 bus, P1651
2, J1850. P1652 Arbitration error
3, acc pedal position  2 CKT. P2125
4, Skim system timed out. P1685
5, Ambient air temp curcuit P0070 volts to high

it starts and drives but, the key fob does nowt & the interior light wont go out, you have to turn them off on the stalk.

other than that its a nice jeep  :icon_eek:

 :100:

I had immobiliser and electrical problems on my wk and it was caused by a wiring fault - i didn't find it myself so can say if it was frayed wires or what but because it buggered stuff up i ended up replacing the security module and the eletronic steering lock module.

I know it's a different jeep but they seem to share dodgy electrics and the symptoms sound very familiar to mine, theu also both have, merc / jeep interfaces going on

Dags, sympathize with ya ..... but I think that all that d.i.y feck around with these machines are very brave !!

I wouldn't dare touch it, ok that has a financial consequence, but if you think you fixed one thing it'll haunt ya and bite you in the ass  :icon_sad:

I tell ya...... they've got a soul   :icon_eek: (not necessarily a good one  :003:)

well  :icon_biggrin: a pin number helps £25 notes from Jeep  :jpshakehead:
we got another used ecu, programed it with some success  :icon_rolleyes: sort off, the skis recognized the key for about 5 mins then died  :011: hmph
not to be deterred, I put the original ecu back in and nowt, re programed it with the pin and the whole fucking Jeep sprang back into life  :icon_eek:  :102: :eusa_dance:

so did just re-entering the pin number cure the problem  :017:
answers on a postcard !

lets see how long it lasts

Good work, proper determination went into that fix, it was basically gutted inside when I came to visit.
