So, with impeccable timing the fuckin rear prop on the XJ has fucked its UJ, and swappin one is beyond my skills. The major fucker is im meant to be on this film shoot 2mrw & weds and could really do with the cash coz of the volvo bill.

So I removed the rear prop intending to drive it in 4wd (obviously 2wd but would drive), and have tried to cable tie a couple of latex gloves on the end to stop the oil pissing out, but have only done 400 yrds and its got a lot of oil in it, and as the gearbox where the prop goes in is ridged, i cant get a good seal on it - chances are that the weight of the oil means I will lose the gloves at some point.

So - help please

Any ideas on a solution that I can cope with?

Does snap-on have a universal bung set? Not a quick answer though, or cheap for that matter.

I have driven back from bala to walsall (90 miles) with a cut down pop bottle over the out put and lot of tape wrap in rag and more tape, also back from ribbo with the same. Now have a proper sealing thing for it. Heard of people using vendind machine plastic cups but not tried it myself.

The proper sealing thing was off a tool bloke who comes in to work, he has a lot of random shit on the van. Only paid 3 quid and dropped lucky that its the right size. Got a brake pipe flaring tool for a fiver as well, result

Unfortunately he can't afford to F it up as he has places to be (TV shoot, main vehicle). And it's difficult to know' when a UJ is sat properly, the first time out. I can see him crushing needle bearings.

I'll show him what to do this time. (there will be a test...)
