By using the rear slip yoke and the front yoke and Add some brain juice


And someone with a lathe

 

And there you have it! although this is a mock up, need to weld them together.
 


didn't fancy the old hack'n'tap so i'm trying the groove'n'circlip concept


so I took off both props marked up the groove started  the jeep put it in reverse and begun cutting with the grinder



test fitted the unwelded yoke and circlip



the welded up the yoke second time using the TIG


sadly I can't use the orginal cone so need to make a new rear seal holder which is to come .

The circlip is off of an old TC so far nothing brought

I hate drilling and I've tried to drill this harden shaft bollocks no ta plus this hasn't cost me anything .

I get it, my comment definitely wasn't a jibe. Drilling mine for the hack n tap was easy, maybe it's cos I sliced the end off - it might just be the outside that's hard.

James I didn't take that way    I hate drilling  . The spare TC i'm using for bits I experimented with on drilling with minimial amount hacked of each time did get easier  but i'm not a great fan of chopping off to much spline .

What did you gain from this? The length looks to be about the same as original and you would have no increase in strength. Did you require a CV joint because of an extream lift?

I now run the same prop front and back so less spares for the get me home factor and the old prop was on its limit of flex also there's about a  2” difference in lenght .

All up running now it will need a new seal but it all seems OK at the moment
