well thats what i thought too :? but someone i know had trouble with the side lugs splitting so contacted the manufacturer to complain and they replied with that advice. I know a few people who have these and no one else has had any bother with them though (but that could be because he passed the info on to everyone).

I run mine at 33psi. They've been on for a good six months and the trucks a daily driver. I've not had any problems with splitting.

I've gotta say 40psi sounds way too much to me.

well im gonna agree with you chris, ive had a propper drive round town in it today and i think im gonna let them down a bit it feels way too hard.

The bloke who gave me the original advice must like the concrete tyre effect but i sure dont. :?

I wonder if you get better mpg at the higher pressure? I can feel my diamonds holding onto the tarmac at 20 psi. Well I think I can anyway.

20 is far too low. 28-30 is about right.

Well, this afternoon I went to pick up the spare set of rims that'll take the mud rubber.

Stock KJ steels, fitted with part-worn (but still plenty good) Pirelli Scorpion road tyres - £120 for four, including the tyres.

Finally they're fitted, and this morning I put them on the bus.

The bloke at my local tyre place fitted them to the rims at 30psi, but he reckoned I'd want to air them down a bit when I go off road.

They look totally ace - I'll put up some new pics in Member's Rides later. Although they're the same size as the Goodyear OEMs (I've got no lift), the Recips are one whole inch bigger in diameter.

Yeah, that's what i thought looking at the aggressive tread pattern, also on the machos, i have run that type before on landrovers, for off road, i want something a bit milder for DD, the premiers are 20/80 but not as aggressive ........cya

how far can your tyres stick out beyond the wheel arch and still be legal? or can't they stick out at all! as i will be getting new tyres this week, I'm considering 30.9.50 or 31.10.50 i think the 30s will be ok but not sure about 31s.......

Hi,

picked up my new tyres today, went for premier m/t 31s turns out they are made by hurcules tire company Canada who supply north America.
they're very nice 15mm tread not to aggressive and it was a bit of a shock seeing how big they are! got a good deal of the manager and free coffees while we had a look round, the place is enormous, I've put some pics on my album. need to clean and paint my wheels before i have them fitted I'll post more pics when there on! .......cya

tag, did you paint your wheels in the end?

I was going to do something like that to my off-road set of steelies. But I couldn't decide on stealthy black or on-a-motorsport-tip white.

I just think they need to be a bit more fun than grey (see 'em in members rides pics) - specially when they're for fun use anyway
