Whats this called in the uk?

Our US friends call this an 'add a fuse'. Anyone seen this available in the uk?
You plug it in a fuse plug and it provide a power feed wi the fuse that was removed being plugged in the top.

surprised at the price.....perhaps I won't be so lazy and find a way into the engine bay from the cabin on GC.

That was my immediate thought too. If so, just take it from the back of the stereo and put a 3A (or whatever is supplied) fuse in the way.

Good guess guys! I've mounted the Cb on the back of the centre console. I don't need to see it as it has channel up/down buttons and three programmable buttons on the mic. Whats the best way to the back of the stereo unit and when I pull it out are the pos/neg part of the loom clear or are they a colour coded?

Never done a ZJ stereo, so don't know, but commonly the batt +ve is the thick red one. To test it, shove a meter in with +ve to the red wire, and -ve to the body. Make sure the ignition is off, if you have 12v (ish) then that's your man. If you wanna double check, then remove the radio fuse and make sure the voltage has gone.
Take a -ve by grounding it to the body. You should find a bolt under the centre console you can use.

Just looked at a ZJ radio and it's not immediately apparent how to remove it. The 12v lighter socket isn't live with no ignition on, but it will be fine to use that instead of the radio live (though my CB resets to channel 9 whenever I turn it on, as it has no permanent live).

Cheers for checking that out tim. I'm not sure if my unit has a retained memory but is it really an issue?

I may just direct connect to the battery with a switch, I guess there is a disused grommit or something in the bulkhead that I can access.

Straight to the battery is fine, just make sure you put a fuse in line.

Look at taking a live feed from under the seats - electric seat feed?.

I found a plug under the carpet on the passenger side and run off that, permanent live 8-)

Yeah I got leccy seats.....do you get any circuit noise from the alternator or anything? Didn't think about taking live from the seats. Do you know which colour cable under there is the live?
